Process
A. To Start
• You will make-up a name for your doctor. In addition, please include the date and the location that your doctor is writing from.
B. The Diary/Journal
• The journal must be factually and historically correct. Be creative and include a human element to your journal entries.
• The layout of the journal should include ideas, problems, findings and solutions. The human elements of feelings, fears, frustrations, sights, smells, etc. should also be conveyed through your daily entries.
• Each daily journal entry should be 250 words long.
• Use the template as a guide to writing your journal. You are encouraged to include a few interesting pictures, you're sure to come across, to your journal.
C. The Research and Final Product
• The Bubonic Plague: Just mention the name and you will send shivers down the spine of many people. There is no doubt that this disease was deadly and gruesome to watch as it devoured its victims. It struck so fast that many believed the disease was some sort of curse. Theories as to what caused and cured the Bubonic Plague, nicknamed "The Black Death", were plentiful. Many of these theories were ridiculous by today's standards, but were held as truths in the middle ages.
• Use the links to access information that will assist you in writing your journal. It is recommended to have a printed copy of the journal template handy, so that you know what it is you're writing about for a given day. It isn't necessary for you to read everything on every site, but do be thorough and don't rush.
